New NGen Initiative Helps Companies Acquire New Talent

NGen (Next Generation Manufacturing Supercluster) is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative that will help manufacturing companies to attract new talent and build for the future. Beginning this fall, they will be partnering with a group of leading business schools across Canada to help provide students with co-op placements within our member companies. The rapid growth of co-operative education in recent years attests to its effectiveness as a means of helping students to acquire valuable work experience, and helping companies recruit high potential new employees.

The schools that will be participating in this initiative are the following:

• Sobey School of Business, St. Mary’s University

• École de gestion, Université de Sherbrooke

• John Molson School of Business, Concordia University

• HEC Montréal

• Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa

• De Groote School of Business and Economics, McMaster University

• Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University

• Odette School of Business, University of Windsor

• Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba

• Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary

• Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia

Students will be available to begin work as of January 2022, and placements are expected to run for approximately 14 weeks. Funding to help cover the costs of students’ wages can be available through various government programs, and NGen is now investigating these opportunities.
