LobsterFest Makes Strong Return in Atlantic Region

Nearly 60 EFC members attended this year’s lobster event at the Shore Club in picturesque Hubbards, Nova Scotia.

The event kicked off with a networking reception where industry members and guests mingled and enjoyed some time on the outdoor patio with live music by Lil’ Nite Lover. In true Nova Scotian style, EFC Atlantic Region Executive Committee Chair Nathan Salmon then called members inside for dinner by sounding an old-fashioned fog horn.

As appetizers were served, Salmon took a few minutes to welcome members and guests and shared some information on EFC’s initiatives and campaigns. He then presented two individuals with plaques for their work as committee members on the EFC Executive Committee and YPN Atlantic Committee. Kevin Savage, Next Sales & Marketing, was recognized for his term as Chair from 2020-2023, and Cory Morris, Graybar Canada, for his term as YPN Atlantic Chair from 2021-2023. EFC would like to thank Kevin and Cory for their significant contributions to helping move the industry forward.

Salmon also made a special announcement in light of the unfortunate passing of Jay Lane, a 30-year Rexel employee. The Atlantic Region Executive Committee has dedicated the 2024 Atlantic Family Scholarship Award in the amount of $2,000 to Lane’s daughter who is currently attending university.

Rhys Harnish then shared a little history about the Shore Club and some tips on how to eat lobster for those first-timers. As dinner began, members had further opportunity to network while enjoying a traditional lobster supper which is a “must-do” experience at the Shore Club.

A new feature of this year’s event was our YPN fundraiser: A limited-edition YPN Atlantic Region Shore Club trucker hat sponsored by Liteline! We are pleased to share that we raised an astounding $1,050 that will go back into YPN Atlantic regional programming! Thank you to all members who supported this fundraiser!
