EFC’s 2019 Corporate Engagement Award Recipient is Rexel Canada Electrical Inc.
This year’s EFC 2019 Corporate Engagement Award recipient is Rexel Canada. This recognition is given to an EFC member company that demonstrates leadership in committee and event participation—and supports EFC’s sponsorship programs. The corporate award contenders and the final recipient is selected by the EFC Board of Directors, based on set criteria.
Rexel is one of Canada’s leading distributors of electrical products and a long-standing member of Electro-Federation Canada. The company’s commitment and extensive involvement to the industry has been mutually rewarding. With 198 branches across Canada and 2,220 skilled employees, Rexel serves a broad range of customer segments since 1926.
We spoke to Roger Little, President and CEO of Rexel Canada, who is a second-generation distributor mentored into the role by his father, Gary Little. We asked Roger what this award means for Rexel. Here’s what he had to say:
“Recognition that the team has done a lot within EFC, the industry and for its peers. It’s nice to be recognized. The last couple of years we stepped up the involvement with different regions and associations across Western Canada. It’s important to give back – as a larger distributor, we have specialized groups of experts that can do just that. Since Carol [McGlogan] got involved, she was able to see the strengths in our professional experts.”
Rexel’s engagement on the board, across the EFC committees, in leadership roles, and sponsorship of the Young Professionals Network (YPN), to name a few, has not gone unnoticed. We thank all of Rexel Canada’s three banners: Rexel Atlantic, Nedco, and Westburne for opening doors for their employees to grow their businesses to thrive. We thank all the team members for their active, constant and valuable involvement.
Nominating a company or individual for their hard work, dedication to the industry and successful accomplishments builds our community to grow, lead and compete in an ever-changing world. Recognition can breed success.
