EFC Supports BCEA’s Diversity & Inclusion Program as a Top-Tier Sponsor

This month, the BC Electrical Association (BCEA) announced the launch of a brand-new diversity and inclusion initiative that will drive our industry’s movement in developing inclusive workplaces and addressing barriers for racialized communities to secure and retain employment in our industry.

Diversity matters! Studies show that diversity improves competitiveness. A McKinsey report states that top quartile performance in diversity yields between 15% and 35% improvements in profit.[1] The Boston Consulting Group shows a 73% improvement in innovation revenue among above average diversity employers vs. below average diversity employers.[2]

Program Details: BCEA’s program builds on the Government of Canada’s Anti-Racism Action Plan (ARAP), an important anti-racism strategy that addresses barriers to employment, justice and social participation among Indigenous Peoples, racialized communities and religious minorities. More about ARAP.

As part of this effort, BCEA has developed a speaker series, assessments and recommendations to support this federal initiative and is leading the charge in bringing about awareness to the electrical market to help strengthen diversity and build equitable workplaces in the industry.
