EFC Members brought their “A” Game to the 22nd Annual Federation Cup Golf Tournament
On Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, more than 300 EFC Members and industry guests participated in the 22nd Annual Federation Cup Golf Tournament at Deer Creek Golf Club in Ajax.
The beautiful weather set the stage for an amazing day on the greens as well as during the industry networking reception and dinner. Golfers were able to kick start their day with a hot buffet breakfast, while stocking up on some golf swag.
On course, golfers were able to participate in multiple contest holes, including closest to the pins, straightest drive, putting contests, and a hole-in-one. Golfers enjoyed a bar b q lunch at the pavilion during their round which included a poutine station, and ice cream truck, along with fresh fruit and vegetable cups.
Off the course, members were able to enjoy the massage wellness station, oyster station, smoothie station, 19th hole beverage, as well as a delicious dinner during the awards presentation. The Federation Cup tournament also hosted an EFC Alumni foursome, sponsored by Eaton, which included retired EFC Members, Harald Henze, John Sencich, John Preville, and Don Smrke.
As the Federation Cup tournament was in full swing over Deer Creek’s 5 nines, new golfers were able to take part in a separate Golf 101 Performance Academy, learning putting and driving techniques and playing nine holes, before joining the main networking reception afterwards.
Concurrent to the networking reception, EFC hosted a silent auction, allowing members to bid on big ticket items, like a 7-night Jr Suite stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs, golf bags, sound speakers, sporting tickets and more! Each year, the EFC Federation Cup Golf Tournaments Silent Auction raises funds for the EFC Scholarship program. This year, $9140 was raised, which will benefit the EFC Scholarship Program with offering nine additional scholarships at $1000 to deserving post-secondary students across Canada. On behalf of Paul Morrow, Golf Chair, Southwire, and Danny Buchanan, Vice Chair, Rexel, a huge gratitude is extended to all who contributed to the success of this premier industry golf event.
