EFC Members’ Participation in IEC Standards Development Yields Beneficial Outcome for North American Manufacturers

The active participation of EFC members in International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards development has been rewarded with the launch of a new standard that reflects North American products.  The effort to positively influence the standards of IEC SC 23H to reflect North American products and standards for 20 A and 30 A Locking Devices is a big win for EFC membership as it provides protection for our approach in North America while also allowing our members to expand their sales globally.  IEC 62986, Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers with arcuate contacts, was published on September 28, 2017.
