Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively for #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction.

Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

In this spirit, we asked EFC members to share their stories, events, and initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion and how their organization supports and encourages inclusion in the workplace. We are proud to share the stories of some of these inspiring women leaders.

So, together, let’s Accelerate Action to speed up the rate of progress worldwide.

Stronger Together: How Agence Ricard Builds a Thriving Team Culture

At Agence Ricard, equity and inclusion are more than just values—they are the foundation of everything we do. As a women-owned company led by Vanessa Ricard and Corinne Galarneau-Ricard, we take pride in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

With women representing over half of our team, we are proving that leadership in the electrical industry isn’t just about expertise, it’s about breaking barriers and redefining what’s possible. But fostering inclusion isn’t just about numbers; it’s about action. That’s why we’ve built a workplace culture centered on collaboration, well-being, and mutual success.

One of the ways we bring this vision to life is through our group training sessions, held three times a week with a personal trainer. More than just fitness, these sessions create a space where employees of all backgrounds come together, support each other, and strengthen bonds beyond the office walls.

We also believe that growth never stops, which is why we invest in continuing education opportunities, giving our team the tools, knowledge, and confidence to stay ahead of industry trends and push the boundaries of innovation.

For us, inclusion isn’t just about hiring more women; it’s about creating an environment where they can lead, innovate, and inspire the next generation. As we celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, we stand proud of the workplace we’ve built and remain committed to championing equity in our industry because when we lift each other up, we all rise together!

A Story of Strength, Support, and Inclusion at STL Lighting Group

At STL Lighting Group, we believe in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace where every employee—regardless of gender, background, or personal challenges—is valued and supported. In honor of International Women’s Day, I want to share my personal journey and how my company has been a pillar of strength throughout one of the most difficult times in my life.

In 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Receiving such a diagnosis was devastating, and the road to recovery has been anything but easy. Cancer affects not just one’s health, but also mental well-being, daily routines, and the ability to work. However, thanks to STL Lighting Group, I never had to choose between my career and my health.

From the very beginning, my company stood by me, offering me unconditional support, flexibility, and encouragement. Instead of treating my illness as a barrier to my work, they accommodated my needs by allowing me to work full-time from home with flexible hours. This arrangement enabled me to continue contributing professionally while managing my weekly treatments and recovery. Their unwavering trust in my abilities, despite the challenges I faced, empowered me to keep moving forward.

This level of compassion and inclusion is what makes STL Lighting Group truly exceptional. Their actions go beyond policies—they genuinely care about their employees’ well-being. I never felt like my illness defined me at work; rather, I felt respected, included, and supported in ways that gave me the strength to keep fighting.

At STL Lighting Group, gender equity is not just about equal opportunities—it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered, no matter the circumstances. The support I have received is a testament to the company’s commitment to inclusivity, empathy, and resilience.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I am proud to work for a company that truly embodies these values. STL Lighting Group has shown me that a workplace can be more than just a place to earn a living—it can be a community of strength, encouragement, and empowerment.

To all the women facing challenges—whether in health, career, or personal life—I want you to know that with the right support, you can continue to thrive. Equity means recognizing each individual’s needs and ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to succeed, no matter their journey.

Thank you, STL Lighting Group, for being a workplace that uplifts, empowers, and truly makes a difference.
