EFC's Day of Giving 2024

During the month of October in recognition of World Habitat Day on October 7th, Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) members and their business partners are joining forces for the 4th Annual EFC Day of Giving in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada. Together, we hope to raise $250,000 to help families gain strength, stability, and independence through access to affordable homeownership. This campaign is an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of our industry and our commitment to investing in the communities in which we live and do business. Your participation will have a tremendous impact on the lives of hard-working Canadians who need your help now more than ever.

Habitat Canada is EFC's Charity of Choice

Like Habitat Canada, EFC strongly believes that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. Habitat Canada knows affordable homeownership empowers Canadian families with a sense of pride and independence. A number of EFC members are strong supporters of Habitat Canada. Many member companies not only contribute financially but also provide product and volunteer support to Habitat affiliates across Canada.

Two Ways to Get Involved

Donations of cash and products from EFC members help support Habitat for Humanity Canada by offsetting building costs, allowing them to serve more families.

1. Product Donation

  • Local Habitats need electrical products suitable for use in residential home construction, such as load centers, circuit breakers, and wiring. These products will help to ensure that Habitat is building with high quality materials and help offset construction costs. If you would like to make a product donation please reach out to Shilo Darling, Manager, National Build GIK Program, sdarling@habitat.ca or (437) 317-8606.
  • Habitat’s ReStores are always in need of quality products and will accept donations of overstocked or discontinued items. Individual and corporate donations to the 100+ ReStore locations across Canada help divert more than 1.1 billion pounds of material from landfills and fund Habitat housing projects. For more on ReStore, please contact Daryl Morrison, National ReStore GIK Manager, at (416) 624-1675 or dmorrison@habitat.ca

2. Cash Donation

  • Cash donations help fund Habitat construction projects across Canada. Donations can be made by cheque, to the following address:

    Jennifer Hearn
    Habitat for Humanity Canada
    100 Yonge Street, 10th Floor, Suite #1002
    Toronto, ON M5C 2W1
