EFC has several standing committees that all members across the country are encouraged to participate in. Through committee involvement, members can further their personal growth, professional development and industry knowledge, while also sharing their insights and expertise to advance the industry and help steer EFC’s programs and services. The committees are segmented into two main streams:
Professional Development/Industry Advancement: these committees allow participants to advance their own professional growth, make their companies more effective, and help steer advancements for the overall industry. These committees and networks include: Marketing, Human Resources, Digital Supply Chain, Research, Low-voltage, Young Professionals Network, National Advisory Council.
Programs: these committees provide member volunteers with an opportunity to strengthen EFC’s core programs and services. These committees and networks include: Golf, Scholarship, Habitat for Humanity, Conference.
The CMG (CEMRA Manufacturers Group) Committee includes EFC member manufacturers and CEMRA reps who gather regularly to provide a platform for the exchange of information. Through this committee, members share and gain valuable business insights, networking, best practices, and professional development.
The objectives of the CMG are:
Provide an opportunity for the exchange of information through discussion, study and research designed to promote positive interactions between manufacturers and independent representatives.
Promote and improve the mutual effectiveness of the manufacturer and rep relationship.
Plans and executes EFC’s Annual Federation Cup Golf Tournament held each August. Committee members are also instrumental in coordinating contest holes and sponsorship opportunities for this event.
This group oversees industry-wide corporate social responsibility initiatives for Habitat for Humanity. The committee is involved in bridging the EFC-Habitat ‘Power to Build’ campaign by encouraging members to participate in one of two ways: onsite at home build days and/or donating products for home builds.
Members of this committee have a background in HR (or related responsibilities) at their current company. This network provides a forum at which participants can learn about new HR best practices and share recruitment and retention experiences and challenges.
The advent of new technologies such as LVDC are paving new opportunities for member businesses and for the wider channel. This committee’s mandate is to explore our industry’s involvement in LVDC opportunities, and what measures channel members can lead in this space.
Open to all EFC members who have a marketing and/or communications function at their company. This group maintains a strong focus on EFC’s marketing efforts to ensure brand consistency across all initiatives, such as the Marketing Awards program, Website, newsletter and other projects. This network provides a forum at which participants can learn about new marketing best practices.
This is an advisory group that acts as the Board liaison for EFC committees.The NAC Chair has a seat on the EFC Board to provide input and updates on regional and committee activities.
This committee steers the development and methodology of EFC’s annual research report. Group members set the scope of the research plan, provide guidance on best practices and recommend next steps for the industry.
Attracting new people into the electrical industry is a key objective for members. This committee helps steer the scholarship program by securing members sponsors and promoting the varied scholarships to post-graduate students across Canada.
This group will help draw awareness to how the industry will benefit from digital supply chain transformation. The committee will plan training and education programs and collaborate to set best practices for members to use as guidance.
This program provides a comfortable, collaborative environment for women in the electrical workforce to connect to build bridges between men and women of all ages and backgrounds, develop their personal brand and grow their careers through personal development, educational and wellness opportunities.
Open to all EFC members who are 40 years of age and under, in any work discipline (sales, marketing, accounting, technical support, engineering, etc.). Committees are regionally based and members help develop programming of interest for EFC’s Young Professionals Network. Join one of five regional groups: Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada, British Columbia or Alberta.
