EFC & CEA Members Meet to Pave the Path Forward to an ‘Electrified Canada’
This past Wednesday, close to 70 members from EFC and the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) converged for a full-day Summit to discuss the impacts and opportunities of Electrification in Canada. The session featured a keynote presentation by Marco Presutti from NRCan on federal programs to support an electrified movement. Eric Deschenes and Stephanie Medeiros from ABB were also on-hand to present a series of megatrends that are driving the need for an electrified infrastructure. Presentations from Plug’n Drive, Ontario Power Generation and the Independent Electricity Systems Operator, were also featured in the business program.
Members also participated in an engaging workshop to explore a set of plausible scenarios—ranging from an ‘off the grid’ system to a federally-run infrastructure…and various scenarios in between.
A special thanks to EFC’s Research Committee and to Janet Small from The Communications Bridge, for their support throughout the day.
A full summary of findings from this Summit will be shared at EFC’s Conference this May.
