2022 EFC Trailblazer Award Recipient: Russ Morgan, IPEX

This year’s EFC 2022 Trailblazer Award recipient is Russ Morgan from IPEX. The Trailblazer Award recognizes exceptional leaders who have advanced the Canadian electrical industry. This award is given to someone from an EFC member organization who has been a catalyst for change by bringing new ideas, processes, or best practices to the forefront of the industry.

Russ Morgan began at IPEX in 1985 and has worked in various positions. In 2009 he assumed his current role at IPEX as VP of Sales for Canada in all market segments. Russ also is the Chair of EFC’s Habitat Canada Committee and was a driver for the successful EFC Habitat for Humanity Day of Giving in October 2021 and raised over $200,000 to help the charity and families in need.

We asked Russ what this award means to him. He stated that “It was a truly humbling experience to be recognized. Anytime you are recognized by your colleagues and peers within your industry, it’s special. It is a great industry, and when you give back to it, it will give you a lot more… the most gratifying thing right now is sitting back and seeing the industry mobilize and get involved. I’ve always strongly felt that (in terms of the industry giving back), it’s the right thing to do and people today, from all walks of life, want to make a difference in terms of contributing to societal impact. Those people who are on site [for Habitat Build Day], it may sound small, but every nail we put in the wall, we’re making a difference for a Canadian family in need.”

Nominating a company or individual for their hard work and successful accomplishments builds our community to grow, lead and compete in an ever-changing world. Recognition can breed success.
