18th Annual Edition of EFC’s Atlantic Region Golf Tournament Sees Successful Return to Moncton
Despite a little rain and threatening skies, EFC’s 18th Annual Atlantic Region Golf Tournament was a resounding success!
The Moncton Golf Club in Riverview, NB hosted this year’s tournament, which saw 156 players hit the green for a day of golf and industry networking with colleagues and peers. Members who arrived early were greeted by a touch of rain, before overcast and humid conditions took over by the time the tournament kicked off at 11 a.m.
This year’s event featured several contest holes, including a Women’s Network booth, YPN putting contest, and a Beat the Pro contest with PGA Atlantic Pro Matt Shea in support of the IWK Foundation. The IWK is dedicated to providing quality health care to women, children, youth, and families in the Maritime provinces and beyond. Since 2006, EFC members have generously raised more than $50k for the IWK at the annual golf tournament.
After a brief rain shower late in the afternoon, members started to return to the clubhouse for the networking reception after finishing 18 holes. Kicking off the awards dinner this year were two members of the Atlantic Region Golf Committee, Tim Rees, WESCO, and Josh Neave, Munden Enterprises, who welcomed members and sponsors and thanked them for their continued support of this annual charitable tournament. Lissa Malais, Relationship Manager, NB/ Gestionnaire des relations, Nouveau-Brunswick with the IWK Foundation, joined Tim and Josh to say a few words on behalf of the health charity. Malais said charitable events like these are not only fun but important to ensure families across the region receive the urgent care they need to help those they love.
